I really don't know how lucky a girl can get! My friend, Rachel, threw me a baby shower this afternoon and it was WoNdErFuL!! I seriously felt so loved. I'm truly so grateful to everyone that came, brought yummy food and wished me well. It was such a fun afternoon!
Tiffany was so thoughtful and got us all together for a group photo. She's the one taking it, so she's not in it, but I got her in a pic down below :)
All the delicious food....
Melissa Nielson made these adorable cupcakes! She's so creative!
Rach made me a DiApEr CaKe! I was so excited! (I know it sounds dumb, but I've always wanted one)
Tiff took some candid shots of me opening presents, which I'm SO grateful for! Although, I'm not too photogenic so here's the only one I don't look weird in :)
If you can't read the outfit I'm holding up, it says "My dad is Mr. Strong"! Trav loved it! Too cute- thanks Carli! I got sooo many cute clothes and items that I've needed. Thank you, thank you everyone!
Ok, so here's the baby update- I am officially nine months pregnant *silent cheering* and it's finally gotten to be not-so-fun. The baby dropped on Tuesday so I started feeling a bit more pressure, but by Wednesday night the pressure was pain. Not all the time, but a significant amount when I tried to stand up, bend over, or just move in general. First time mom here, so I called my doctor and went in to see him on Thursday. He acted like everything was fine when I explained what I was feeling and then he checked me. Not to be too graphic, but he didn't feel very far in when he asked if that was where my pain was. Yes, definitely. "Well," he says, "that's the baby's head". Ahhhh. I direct my next comment to my stomach. "You still have 4 more weeks kid- whatcha think you're doing?!" The doctor assured me it didn't mean he was going to come early, he was just getting ready. SO- I now have the privilege of acting like a waddling, slightly- invalid, 9 month pregnant lady! The worst is laying in bed. I wake up just to change sides because its quite a painful ordeal. It's nice when Travis is awake when I need to get out of bed, because he gives me a good push and I don't have to use my stomach muscles. Sigh. Side comment: Why do we refer to a pregnancy as nine months?? HMMM? Cuz It's truly TEN months. Why is the last, hardest month left out? I know I can't complain because I've had such a good pregnancy so far, but it's just some food for thought! :)
This picture was taken at the sonogram I had three weeks ago. He seems to have quite the schnoz! We don't know who to blame that on yet :)
Ok, I think this is last pregnant pic you're gonna get! Reason: Trav took five others with me looking at the camera and I have a fatty-fat face and can't stand it! Ugh. I know I've been a bit addicted to the chocolate lately, but I didn't realize the toll it was taking on my body! Anyhoo, if it was possible, I'm even MORE excited to have this baby now! We got a crib this morning (Trav is SO excited to have another piece of furniture to refinish!) and we started going to our birthing class this past week. There are 3 sessions stretching over 3 weeks. During this first one they showed two birthing videos. I felt like a guy watching another guy getting clubbed in the "bad area", while I was watching those heads crowning! Yikes! That DOES NOT look fun. Of course, no one said it would be- but still. Don't know how that's all gonna work out. My mom always told me she just tried to remember that millions of other women had done it, so she could too. Still doesn't make me feel better. Anyway, update over. Nursery pics coming soon! :)
