July

No hair pictures of Olive's hair
*moment of silence*
I guess that era is over! I'm saaaaaad. But, not going to lie, mornings are easier.

We did a silly reel for Instagram and laughed so. dang. hard. I love this girl!

Attempting to give the kids certain nights when they're in charge of dinner during the summer. I taught Weston how to make instant pot mac n cheese!
It was a 5th Sunday and Travis needed someone to teach the adults. He felt putting that on his counselors with a week's notice. So I volunteered! We talk so much about keeping temple covenants but don't often discuss what those covenants are. So I spent the whole hour leading a discussion on the 5 covenants we make in the temple. It was so fun!!

No more braces for Collin! Woot woot! So excited to have less Ortho visits to make! He had two different phases of braces. Look at how widdle he was when he started! It was right when COVID started that he got them on.

Swimming at Grandmas but Cohen wanted to do puzzles. He just needed some help.

We spent the 4th of July at Roosevelt lake with the Goodmans! It's a farther drive but so nice to have a much less crowded lake. The kids are getting the hang of wake surfing. Well, the boys. Olive is such a screamer when she tries it with Trav haha. We ended with dinner at Barros together. Yay for the Goodman's boat!

The Shaheens were in town with the Jones so we got to meet them in Scottsdale for a swim. Look at Bron teaching Tanner how to throw a football. Then we took the kids to a go-cart race track. I really wanted to go to dinner afterward but I had already made plans with Tasha, Allison and Megan because Megan was in town.

Happy 18 years to us! We did sealings at the Mesa temple and were put in the very room we were sealed in. Oh boy! A lot has changed in 18 years. So so SOOOOO glad I married this man. Couldn't have asked for a more loving, loyal, generous, kind, wonderful man than Travis. I love being married to him.

The Herb Box in Scottsdale

I used to be the reader, but now it's Travis! Camilla was so sweet and gifted the Bishop Book to him.

When the kids get their hands on hair chalk, Winnie is more colorful.

Had to document our world domination of Bloomfield ward hahaha.
I kind of feel like I just got my feet under me. I'm sad to be released after just a year and a half but excited for Travis to have this experience.

I got my wish.... one ward council together!
I love that President Eyring is peeking out behind us.

Large packages mean someone is getting boxed up on a Sunday afternoon.

Sunday birthdays aren't super cool, but when you're friends with Camilla, she shows up with her whole family to sing Happy Birthday with maracas and a pinata!

Meet the teacher! We were in Flagstaff for the real day but she let us come in the day before school started to meet her.
Alyse Sandoval for 2nd grade! She seems really nice!

Olive got Mrs. Jost for 6th grade but will have multiple teachers because they switch rooms for ELA, Science and Social Studies.

Some friends in Marcie's ward threw a sweet baby shower for her!

First day of school tradition... Mickey Mouse pancakes! Weston, Olive and Tanner started on July 23, but Collin didn't start until the next week.

Weston started 8th grade at Greenfield Junior High. He insists on riding his Macfox bike to school. Stresses me out!!

Olive starting 6th grade at Greenfield Elementary

Tanner starting 2nd grade at Greenfield Elementary

They normally take the bus but I drive them on the first day.

Tanner found Bradley and Olive found Emily to hang with before the bell!

Weston tied a handkerchief on the back of his bike so it wouldn't get scratched when he does wheelies. Monkey see, monkey do.
Camilla went to a Higley School Board meeting to advocate for no phones in schools and I went just to support her but ended up speaking too. Then we ended up in the Gilbert Sun newspaper. News must be slow.
Second day of school outfits!
We made it through the summer. Mama gets a treat.

The scriptures are not the easiest to read and understand. My friend told me about the Action Bible. It's written in a comic book structure. It's still very thick. It took him a long time, but he finished it!

My hoarding self has held onto these tables since Prenda. Millie is teaching Prenda this year so I gave them to her! And got rid of the 3D printing machine. This room just opened up!

Picked up Collin and 6, raucous boys from air soft shooting. It's very hard work trying not to be an embarrassing mom.

Tanner started having these weird bumps show up on his back and side. After trying a few things, took him in and found out its a common childhood skin issue called molluscum conatgiosum. Sounds like a Harry Potter spell. We've been at it 6 months trying to get rid of it with only mild success.

It was hard to find a night, but we made our back-to-school night happen! Collin helped me. We went shopping to get everything we needed for dinner and this super complicated chocolate cake. I asked him to read a conference talk from April directed to the youth of the church and choose a scripture we can focus on as a family. Instead he found a paragraph from the Family Proclamation. I loved it. Something I didn't even realize how much we needed to discuss. Then I read a book called Irreversible Damage about the gender dysphoria ideology being pushed and knew we needed our kids to understand the importance of our gender. Overall, though, the theme is "Created With a Purpose"
I had a great day with my oldest son. We ate smash burgers then went to the temple so the boys could do baptisms. Ended the night seeing a movie together. I fell asleep but still enjoyed being together!

I made a little decoration for the kitchen table for the theme. Time to retire last years!

Everyone was out with friends so Tanner got to come on our date night with us!
Selfies while you're waiting for your mom to stop talking!

Grandpa bought a hot tub.
Oh! I lied! Looks like I do have one hair picture!

Meet the teacher night at ALA.
Sawyer hasn't graduated yet but was hired to teach 8th grade English. Collin has had fun hanging out in her classroom before and after school this year.

I hosted the ward book club and it was British themed so I made a tart, cucumber sandwiches and scones and had tea out!

Collin starting his sophomore year at American Leadership Academy North.
