I really don't know how lucky a girl can get! My friend, Rachel, threw me a baby shower this afternoon and it was WoNdErFuL!! I seriously felt so loved. I'm truly so grateful to everyone that came, brought yummy food and wished me well. It was such a fun afternoon!
Tiffany was so thoughtful and got us all together for a group photo. She's the one taking it, so she's not in it, but I got her in a pic down below :)
All the delicious food....
Melissa Nielson made these adorable cupcakes! She's so creative!
Rach made me a DiApEr CaKe! I was so excited! (I know it sounds dumb, but I've always wanted one)
Tiff took some candid shots of me opening presents, which I'm SO grateful for! Although, I'm not too photogenic so here's the only one I don't look weird in :)
If you can't read the outfit I'm holding up, it says "My dad is Mr. Strong"! Trav loved it! Too cute- thanks Carli! I got sooo many cute clothes and items that I've needed. Thank you, thank you everyone!
Ok, so here's the baby update- I am officially nine months pregnant *silent cheering* and it's finally gotten to be not-so-fun. The baby dropped on Tuesday so I started feeling a bit more pressure, but by Wednesday night the pressure was pain. Not all the time, but a significant amount when I tried to stand up, bend over, or just move in general. First time mom here, so I called my doctor and went in to see him on Thursday. He acted like everything was fine when I explained what I was feeling and then he checked me. Not to be too graphic, but he didn't feel very far in when he asked if that was where my pain was. Yes, definitely. "Well," he says, "that's the baby's head". Ahhhh. I direct my next comment to my stomach. "You still have 4 more weeks kid- whatcha think you're doing?!" The doctor assured me it didn't mean he was going to come early, he was just getting ready. SO- I now have the privilege of acting like a waddling, slightly- invalid, 9 month pregnant lady! The worst is laying in bed. I wake up just to change sides because its quite a painful ordeal. It's nice when Travis is awake when I need to get out of bed, because he gives me a good push and I don't have to use my stomach muscles. Sigh. Side comment: Why do we refer to a pregnancy as nine months?? HMMM? Cuz It's truly TEN months. Why is the last, hardest month left out? I know I can't complain because I've had such a good pregnancy so far, but it's just some food for thought! :)
This picture was taken at the sonogram I had three weeks ago. He seems to have quite the schnoz! We don't know who to blame that on yet :)
Ok, I think this is last pregnant pic you're gonna get! Reason: Trav took five others with me looking at the camera and I have a fatty-fat face and can't stand it! Ugh. I know I've been a bit addicted to the chocolate lately, but I didn't realize the toll it was taking on my body! Anyhoo, if it was possible, I'm even MORE excited to have this baby now! We got a crib this morning (Trav is SO excited to have another piece of furniture to refinish!) and we started going to our birthing class this past week. There are 3 sessions stretching over 3 weeks. During this first one they showed two birthing videos. I felt like a guy watching another guy getting clubbed in the "bad area", while I was watching those heads crowning! Yikes! That DOES NOT look fun. Of course, no one said it would be- but still. Don't know how that's all gonna work out. My mom always told me she just tried to remember that millions of other women had done it, so she could too. Still doesn't make me feel better. Anyway, update over. Nursery pics coming soon! :)

You definitely have the mommy's glow. You're so cute when you're pregnant! Sorry you're already at the waddle point. I'll be thinking about you!
That was such a great shower and I'm glad to hear that you are still holding in there. I've been behind on blog reading, but I'm so jealous you got to go to NYC during the ball drop, but huge bummer on the cold and wait. You both are good troopers for sure! I love your baby bump and we hope all the best for the next month!
I think that you have to go through that last month because then you will go through any amount of pain and humiliation just to have the little guy out! However, I hear that epidurals are wonderful in the pain easing area. I wouldn't know! Hang in there, and by the way I think you look really good. My prayers are with you.
You had a wonderful turn out for your shower. So many love you! :) You are a strong one & can pull through these next few weeks, I know you can! He'll be here before you know it! And he is obviously getting anxious himself to meet you guys. :)
You DO NOT have a fatty-fat face. I am amazed that you still look so thin and beautiful!!
I don't know what you are talking aobut you look awesome! I love getting together so thanks for giving us a reason to celebrate! AND your mom is right if other women {me} can do it so can you! Just get the epidural...no one is going to give you a blue ribbon for doing it without... so go in there and tell them it's what you want. You'll be just fine. It's the one thing you can do for your baby that no one else can, and the min. you hold him you'll be so in love with him that you'll realize that it was all worth it! And for what it's worth I think you should quit that job you don't really like and get some much needed rest. Best of luck and let me know if you need anything.
So nice of everyone!!! I'm so glad you have a family away from home!!!!!! You are me one year ago exactly!!! =) This is the worst part, that head down low and their is NO comfortable position. I'm so excited for you and who knows I might get to share my birthday with a special little guy. =) Oh I love you and PLEASE post more pictures soon, I want to see the nursery!!!!
I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! JUST REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE NIGHT AND CAN'T ROLL OVER TO PEE FOR THE SEVENTH TIME, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!! I LUV YA GOOD LUCK!
Well, luckily I was only pregnant for one week of the 10th month...but those last few weeks I had TERRIBLE back pain. Sorry you are dealing with those not-fun-at-all symptoms! Oh, and don't worry about the nose. During one of Jackson's ultrasounds, the tech told us that he had prominent ears. I was so freaked out, but he had completely normal ears. :) You look so cute pregnant! I'm still bummed that I didn't get to go to your shower. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!!
It was a beautiful shower! Rachel did a GREAT job! And you really look wonderful!!
I'm totally feeling you on all the pregnancy stuff! I loved the update! And Rachel did such a good job on your shower--you got some of the cutest things, I'm glad I could be there!
