Megan Shaheen has taken ALL of my kids' newborn pictures. I have been so lucky. This is our first child born not living by the Shaheens. Waaaaaaaa. I contemplated hiring a newborn photographer, but never felt super motivated to. I just figured I'd snap a few myself. With everything going on after his birth it was two weeks later that I finally got around to it. What started as a simple photo shoot turned into a six hour long process. I blew a fuse by plugging in two space heaters. (That shorted out my computer, btw, making me think I had lost my hard drive), I had the lamp shades off the lamps, all the windows open, multiple blankets and outfits strewn about. I was sweating profusely, changing out batteries in my flash, trying to be SO patient, putting him in different positions. He was nakey for most it so he peed and pooped all over me, the bed, and blankets multiple times. I'd take little breaks to nurse him, try to get him asleep, then try some more pictures. It was nutso. They are nothing close to what I would have gotten with Megan or really anyone that knew what they were doing, but oh well. I love him and I love that at least I captured a few sweet poses.
Baby stretches.
The.best.
MUSCLESSSS!!! ;)
Oh those toesies!!
A week later I attempted family pictures! Hows that for ambitious?!
Travis is the world's best husband when it comes to this. Infinitely patient. SUCH a good sport. Helps me corral the kids and tells them to cooperate with me. I didn't have a remote for my camera, so I got the settings just right on the tripod, hit the button and raced back to my spot, snatching Tanner and smiling as the clicks started. We did this lots.of.times.
Did I mention my family was being so patient?
It paid off! I LOOOOVE this shot! Yay for pretty, new headboards and beautiful new babies.
Swoon! Fav for sure.
Travis even got to play photographer for a bit. With cropping and editing, it didn't turn out too shabby!

We now have this pose with Trav and all our boys.
Yum. Yum. Yum.
I like myself the least in this picture but him the most.
I designed the birth announcements and when I finally got them printed and had them in my hands I breathed a huge sigh of happiness.
It was all worth it!!
I'm obsessed with this picture of him all swaddled up with his hat on.
Feeling ALL the good feels with these!
Tanner baby, you are precious!!

WORTH IT! Every single one was picture perfect! His birth announcement was adorable I loved the contrast of the yellow swaddle. Your family picture gives me hope that it is possible to get a good family picture with smiling kids. So dang cute!
