Last Sunday was a pretty big milestone for us... we celebrated our 7 year anniversary on 7-7!
On Friday, Travis was the best sport ever and went to an outdoor production of Grease with me. I'll admit, it wasn't quite as good as I expected, but it was still fun to see and to be out doing something different. Travis has yet to see the movie, Grease, so I think that's next on our agenda!
On Saturday, we drove to Durango to try a fancier restaurant called Cosmos, that had been recommended to us. We both ordered the Surf and Turf, some sushi for an appetizer, and a molten chocolate cake for dessert! You would have thought we'd have to be rolled out of there, but the portions were so small, I think we could have even eaten more! *sheepish face* This was also a big step for me in that this was the first steak I have ever ordered at a restaurant. And to be honest, it wasn't that awesome. The lobster was! But the steak was just, eh. I think the one that we grilled at home for Trav's birthday was way better. The check was a little hard to swallow, but hey, gotta live it up sometimes, right?! We just won't eat for the rest of the week. :)
But then, it gets better. Travis was super sneaky and bought something for me that I've been wanting for quite a while. The kicker is, I've never told him! He saw it written on a list I had made and forgotten about. So earlier this week, I happened to check my email and see a notification that my Kindle Fire was on it's way!!! I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped, then a big smile spread across my face. It must have been pretty big too, because I was sitting in the car and from the back seat Collin questioned, "Mom, why are you smiling so much?" Haha. Because your dad spoils me too much, that's why! Oh, I love him. And really, it has nothing to do with being spoiled. He is my favorite person in the whole world. I wouldn't know what to do without him. Looking back on our wedding pictures just makes me happy. Marrying him was the best decision I could have ever made. I feel like I got hit with the lucky stick. He is my perfect compliment and the love of my life. In some ways, 7 years doesn't seem like very long, but as Trav put it, "When were we ever not married?" It does kind of feel like we've never been without each other. Just the way I like it. :)
