Evans in Flagstaff 2024

The week before school resumed, the Evans did their annual week in Flagstaff. Travis needed to work on Monday so I drove up with the kids alone on Monday morning. The rest of them had gone up on Sunday. I laughed when I ran into them leaving with their Sam's club haul as I walked in.
The older our kids get, the more enjoyable vacations are. This was my favorite trip to Flagstaff yet. The kids basically took care of themselves and were constantly off with their cousins playing. Tanner was really the only one I had to keep tabs on and keep entertained. The weather was beautiful and a much needed reprieve from the heat. It was so nice to be able to go on walks/jogs in the morning and just slow down and take life easy for a week. Olive spent lots of time doing Perler Beads and nails and watching some mermaid show with the girls. We did a family hike up by Snowbowl one day, went to Slide Rock another day and Bearizona another day. We attempted the bike park a couple times but got rained out once. Every day we went to the clubhouse to swim, hot tub, play mini golf and ping pong. Multiple times playing pickleball and one afternoon the dads took a big group out to play frisbee golf. One night all the adults went to Pizzicletta for dinner and oh my garsh, it was SO yummy!!! Our ward's Young Men camp was the same week in Flagstaff (Thur-Sat) so Travis and the boys spent most of the weekend with them. Us girls got acai bowls and went back to school shopping one day. Travis drove back home Saturday night so he could be at church but I didn't want to leave so me and kids stayed the last night. It was my birthday, after all! Karen got some yummy pies and us girls played games all that night. I love the Evans family! I'm really so grateful for this time together.

Family Camping 2024

Lindblom family camping July 11-13 (Thursday-Saturday)
Thanks to Marcie, family camping happened!
Here is just a sample of the junk I brought up to snack on.
I drove up with my kids on Thursday morning and Travis came that night after work.
The Figs did smash burgers for dinner Thursday night and we did breakfast burritos for dinner Saturday night. The Goodmans had their quads up there but Grandpa didn't bring his RZR. Tanner was obsessed with Della's quad. We played lots of games, had a super fun dance party with glow sticks one night and did a corn hole tournament the last day. I gave Olive my phone to copy a fun Instagram dance I had found, with all the grandkids. She directed it and those kids worked on it for two days. I edited all the dances together and it turned out really cute! The girls also had fun making "fairy houses" with bark and flowers and leaves. The biggest annoyance were these enormous black birds that started shrieking at 5am. They were seriously as big as cats. It woke me up and there was no going back to sleep but I was sooooo tired. In my annoyance, I finally got up and started tromping through the woods, chucking rocks at them. If I was a cursing woman, a stream of obscenities would have surrounded me. They'd fly to a nearby tree and keep up their devil screams so I'd hike over, heaving rocks as I went. What a scene I must have been. Someone the rest of camp was oblivious. Maybe it was their sweet campers keeping out the ruckus. Who knows. Oh to have had a gun on hand!!
We are tent campers so it's a lot of work making this happen but the kids love it and heck, so do I. We are blessed with wonderful family and I'm so grateful we get to make these memories

Look at that sweet, dirt eyeliner on Tanner! ;)
