The week before school resumed, the Evans did their annual week in Flagstaff. Travis needed to work on Monday so I drove up with the kids alone on Monday morning. The rest of them had gone up on Sunday. I laughed when I ran into them leaving with their Sam's club haul as I walked in.
The older our kids get, the more enjoyable vacations are. This was my favorite trip to Flagstaff yet. The kids basically took care of themselves and were constantly off with their cousins playing. Tanner was really the only one I had to keep tabs on and keep entertained. The weather was beautiful and a much needed reprieve from the heat. It was so nice to be able to go on walks/jogs in the morning and just slow down and take life easy for a week. Olive spent lots of time doing Perler Beads and nails and watching some mermaid show with the girls. We did a family hike up by Snowbowl one day, went to Slide Rock another day and Bearizona another day. We attempted the bike park a couple times but got rained out once. Every day we went to the clubhouse to swim, hot tub, play mini golf and ping pong. Multiple times playing pickleball and one afternoon the dads took a big group out to play frisbee golf. One night all the adults went to Pizzicletta for dinner and oh my garsh, it was SO yummy!!! Our ward's Young Men camp was the same week in Flagstaff (Thur-Sat) so Travis and the boys spent most of the weekend with them. Us girls got acai bowls and went back to school shopping one day. Travis drove back home Saturday night so he could be at church but I didn't want to leave so me and kids stayed the last night. It was my birthday, after all! Karen got some yummy pies and us girls played games all that night. I love the Evans family! I'm really so grateful for this time together.
