Olive's 7th Birthday Party

Well, despite Travis landing himself in the ER the night before, Olive's birthday party was a go on Saturday! Complete with a freshly finished, ship-lap wall. It was a Tea Party theme and I think I loved it as much as Olive.

I wish I had taken a picture of the food! I had cheese and crackers, strawberries, heart shaped sandwiches, brownie bites and iced cookies with pink soda pop for "tea". Camilla came and helped me and she was a riot! She put on an old lady, British accent and had the girls rolling with laughter as she served them. I was so grateful for her help!

Aubrey was the highlight of the party, coming and painting all the girls' faces with whatever design they wanted! While the girls waited their turn, we played a "spin the nail polish bottle" game, painting all their nails various colors.

Then, of course, a piƱata was in order. By that time, Marcie had showed up and while we walked outside I heard Camilla joking with her how entertaining pinatas are because you get to see kids' "true colors" come out.
Um, enter Olive.
She was first to take a whack at it and she was so excited she shrieked with every swing. Like a banshee. With a manic expression on her face. Almost like she was letting out pent up anger. We were dying laughing.

I forgot to mention that at the very beginning, while we waited for everyone to show up, they got to color and decorate their own fans. Such pretty ladies.
From left to right is
Mia, Lindi, Olive, Olivia, Scarlett and Posey. Love all these girls so much!

Olive acts like Collin when opening up her presents- THRILLED. Her facial expressions are the best, then she throws herself on whomever the giver was, in a huge hug, thanking them profusely, then jumps up and down in happiness. I'd say the presents were her favorite part, haha.

Let's just say she was "on one" by the time the cake came out.

A total ham.
A comedian on stage.
Hyped up on sugar and joy.

'Twas a success. Turning 7 never was so fancy. I love my expressive, vivacious, girly child. She can dole out the sass then melt you with her sweetness in the same breath. I often stare at her and wonder why I'm parenting a teenager already. She loves watching The Thundermans, America's Funniest Home Videos and The Babysitter's Club. Her favorite foods are crepes, puffed up pancakes, steak and mashed potatoes. But NOT french fries, baked potatoes or other forms of potatoes, haha. She sleeps with a ratty, old, silk, pink blankie from when she was a baby. And much to our chagrin, still sucks her thumb while she falls asleep. She begs to have make- up on any chance she gets. She makes friends everywhere she goes. She just has that sparkly, energetic personality that draws people to her. I love her so much and am so grateful Heavenly Father gave me a daughter!
