Olive's birthday

I'm not a "birthday party every year mom", but Camilla had discovered this unicorn party business that she wanted to do with Posey and Olive, so how could I resist?!
I made the invitation and thought it turned out pretty cute. All of their neighborhood/ ward friends + Olivia, Lindi and Scarlett were invited!

It's hard to tell, but Olive's dress and bow have unicorns all over them. Totally happenstance that we had these two items!

Camilla likes poses, lol.
The girls started out by going inside the trailer that was transformed into a princess dressing room! They got all gussied up in princess dresses and jewelry. Marcie was nice to stick around. I wasn't sure how Scarlett would do, being a couple of years younger. It was nice to have an extra set of hands to help with all the dressing up!

Then, we led them outside for their big surprise!!!
A real, live UNICORN!!!!
Let me just pause by telling you that that very morning, when she was blowing out the candle on her birthday donut, she made a wish. And I was able to weasel it out of her that her wish was for a real unicorn. I KID YOU NOT! And I had not said a word about a unicorn being at her party. I tell ya what, when you're the cutest 5 year old around, wishes really DO come true. Later on, one of the girls was trying to convince them that it wasn't a real unicorn... just a horse with a fake horn, but Olive wouldn't be deterred. She just KNEW it was real. It made me so happy!

Yep. There were grown-up princess dresses.
And yep, we definitely put them on.

Then it was time for the pony rides!!! Ahem, I mean unicorn rides!!
The girls rode and rode for over an hour. Hopping off only to go back to the trailer for costume changes!

Anddd special, unicorn glitter tattoos! These babies were made of something extra permanent because we had guests with theirs still on weeks later! (But Olive had to have hers scrubbed off on Monday by the school nurse, because Franklin doesn't allow tattoos. LAME!)

Camilla got a cake with a picture of them both on it. I die.
From left to right we have Lindi Goodman,  Scarlett Figureoa, Layla Neely, Olive, Sarah Manning, Posey, Piper Warner, Elise Rigby, Brielle Kirk, Macie Shaw, Olivia Evans and Ruby Hanks.

Posey gave Olive matching, BFF unicorn shirts! And they both gave each other bff, unicorn necklaces. Cue the "awwww"!

Other birthday festivities included being spotlighted at school! She got to bring in her favorite book to read with the class.
And celebrating with the family at Sunday dinner on her actual birthday! I made a confetti cookie bar type thing for her "cake".

Lindi gave her a musical jewelry box that was her very favorite gift! Shelley and I used to have a very similar one growing up. Lindi in this picture kills me! You can just see the sweet longing in her eyes. It's on Olive's nightstand and we all listened to the music non-stop that first week!
