Office Remodel

Remodeling Travis's office has been hanging over my head since we bought it, almost two years ago. I just didn't have the energy. But with a baby coming, it went to the top of my to-do list. We don't own the building so we didn't want to sink a ton of money into it, but it definitely needed fresh paint and new decor. We also redid the waiting room floor. I LOVE the way it turned out. He said he gets constant compliments, but there's also been a couple fuddy-duddy patients that have said it's very "cold". Whatever. I'm no interior designer, but you're ancient if you prefer brown carpet and dusty, old flowers to what it is now.

Finally got the street sign changed too!

BEFORE
Notice the super unwelcoming, almost governmental signs forbidding animals and cell phones?? It's like being in the DMV. Yuck. And that weird box on the wall was a broken fountain.

AFTER

Changed out those ugly signs for "We're So Glad You Are Here". Trying to send a happier message here.

BEFORE
I mean we all love our fossilized clocks, buuuut....
AFTER
I guess some of the employees were sad to see this bird collage on the wall go. Eesh. You can't please everyone, I guess. Adios hummingbirds.

BEFORE
This next bunch of pictures is to show all the things he had on the walls. A strange assortment of Indian pictures and artifacts mixed with Arizona scenery.

AFTER
The tree was supposed to nod at the logo for his office that's on his business cards, website and front door.

This picture is MY FAVORITE.
It's a photograph of my great-grandma, Olive Ensign Evans, as a young girl in her father's dental office. She's the one standing by the door.
Yes. Olive Evans now has a great, great, granddaughter named after her whose father is also a dentist. I love it.

So here's where I just couldn't help myself.
I LOVE a good, cheesy pun. Hehe.
Travis is a gem for letting me hang these.

BEFORE
This bathroom. Ew.

AFTER
Not life changing, but an improvement for sure.
