4th of July

Since the 4th of July was on a Friday, we decided to truck it on home for the long weekend. My family was still out of town on their RV trip, so we had their house all to ourselves! We woke up bleary eyed on the 4th, to raucous sounds next door, at Cardon Park. My parent's ward was having a breakfast and slip 'n slide party. The boys had their swim suits on in 2 seconds flat. A fire truck was spraying a massive tarp for the kids to slide on, making for a very fun, muddy mess.

My old, YW's president, Sis. Merkley! Love her!

I ran into a friend of mine, that I grew up across the street from. It was fun catching up with her while our kids went wild!

I had heard about a new donut shop in Chandler that I was dying to try, so I talked my sisters into making the trip out there! Boy are we glad we did! You custom order your donuts and they were artery clogging good!
I had to take a picture of the owner. Ever seen Parks and Rec? You know Chris Traeger.... the perpetually happy director? Well, this was LITERALLY his twin. :)

I got Olive and Lindi these patriotic bloomers then made them bows to match. Ah!!! The cuteness kills me! The matching chub rolls on their thighs might be my favorite though.

It's never a good day, when Uncle Davy comes around.

In the early afternoon we went swimming with my cousin, Leah's family and Shelley and Sarah. Then, they went inside to eat, just as all the Evan's came! So we got to swim and party all day with family.

Nailed it.
Collin pointed out that the blackberries look like a hand. Yup, that's what I was going for. ;)

We really should have mustered up the energy to drive and watch fireworks. But it just didn't happen. So Reddin's tailgate fireworks were the entertainment. The kids loved it. I swear they lit 500 million sparklers. Never. ending. sparklers. :)

He set a few of those obnoxious, loud ones in the road and let them go. Every time, Olive would jump, clenching her legs around my waist and do a little, panicked jig, throwing herself behind me, then flinging forward again to watch with wide eyes. Really, every time.
This picture KILLS ME! I die laughing every time! Oh, sometimes it's just too fun to torture your kids! On that note, Happy 4th of July!!!
