My sweet girl will be 10 months this week, but was 9 months for these pictures. Dozens of times a day, I stop and think how lucky I am to have her and how much I LOVE having a girl! I think this is my favorite age so far. She's on a reliable schedule, really only fusses when she's tired or hungry and gives us smiles and happy shrieks all day long. And I seriously can't get enough of her chubba chubba thighs!!! This is my first baby with rolls and I die over them! I love kissing in her neck and blowing raspberries on her tummy after baths.
But my absolute FAVORITE time of the day is putting her down for naps or bedtime. I turn off the lights, turn on the water noises sound machine, grab her blankie and drape it over my chest. Then she immediately lays her head onto my chest, and nuzzles her body against me, puts her left thumb in her mouth and does this little scrunchie movement with her bum... moving it up and down, up and down, like she's getting comfortable. I sing her Rock a Bye Baby, then I'm a Child of God and the whole time she just cuddles me and hums along. They are the SWEETEST moments of the day and I look forward to them every time.
She really loves soft things, blankies, and stuffed animals and anytime she comes across one, she'll lay her head down and snuggle on it for a minute. And just like Pavlov's experiment, anything soft automatically cues her thumb in her mouth.
She still drinks about 3 bottles a day... around 6-8 ounces. And in between the bottles, she likes any baby food. She's my first baby to not make gagging faces at vegetables! Go girl! She loves gumming on graham crackers or those baby cheeto puff things. Just last weekend I experimented by giving her a cheese stick and she downed the whole thing! Oddly enough, the only two times she's had raspberries, she's woken up crying in the night. Don't know if that's coincidence or tummy troubles. If you give her a whole roll or bread stick, she loves eating on it, but isn't fond of the sacrament bread. In general though, she just loves EATING. A girl after my own heart!
She goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up around 7am. She takes a morning nap around 9:30am and it's usually her best nap. She'll sleep about 2 hours. Her afternoon nap around 2pm is usually just an hour.
She's getting faster at crawling, and will pull herself up to her knees, but hasn't quite gotten to her feet yet. Her little knees have tough, scratchy skin now that they're getting scraped up all day on the floor!
She will wave at strangers and give them smiles but does NOT like to be held by them. If her mama is nearby, she always prefers her! That is not to say that she doesn't adore her daddy though. Whenever he comes home, her face lights up and her arms are instantly out, reaching for him!
About two weeks ago, Trav got her to copy him saying, "Dada" and "Mama". Then last week, she started copying us saying "Uh-Oh!"
She LOVES Collin. He can get giggles and shrieks out of her like no one else can! I swear they have this unique bond. In fact, for these pictures, we called him out of the house to get her to smile, because we weren't cutting it!
She has almost enough hair to pull into a little pony on top, but not quite. It is long enough to get some fluffy bed head though! She has whispies on the sides by her ears that I have to comb back. Luckily, there's no crazy mullet going on. Or super long hair on top that doesn't match the bottom. So I usually just sweep it to the side and put a head band on her.
I'm completely OBSESSED with this babe. There really are no words to describe how much I love her. She is so much fun and has so much personality already. I can't imagine our lives without her. I'm so grateful for these sweet pictures! Thank you, Megan!!
In the same shoot, Megan took a couple of Collin and Lilly in their graduation gowns. I felt so bad that Collin missed his last day of school and graduation because of me!! :( Dang, broken back! He's had a good year at Sacred Heart. I was so grateful he had Lilly with him as his best little buddy. We carpooled all year and it worked out perfectly. Besides hating Mass, I'd say he really liked going to school there. His teachers weren't exactly my favorite ever, but it was still an overall good experience.
And how sweet is this grin?!!
This literally might be my favorite picture EVER.
Go Catholic School.

Olive is so cute!!! The last picture made me laugh. Are you excited for him to start kindergarten?
Everytime I think of Collins preschool I want to say cross yourself, like frost yourself on how to loose a guy in 10 days! Haha, those will be his best memories for sure! Olive is as precious as ever. Love all of her photo shoots. And funny, I have been turning my blogs into books, too! I just sent one in to get published. My goal is to do all my years by the end of the summer. I hope I stay motivated, it takes freaking forever!
I loved reading all about Olive. I sometimes feel like because she's the baby we don't talk about her much. It's always the boys. So fun that she is starting to mimmick words. I love her sweet smile. I just wish I could hold her & squeeze on that chub! :( ANd I too LOVE that preschool pic with prayer hands. haha!
