This handsome devil just turned 9 months last week! I catch him at his best moments, huh? :)
He really is the sweetest baby. So happy and content. I just want to snuggle on him constantly. Too bad the darn helmet gets in the way!
It's hard to resist him when he's so nuts for me. Trav pretends to be offended, but then I just remind him that Weston only sees a steak and potatoes when he looks at me. I'm just food to him. :)
Here he was, so content to be reading with the boys... then I walked by, and he screamed bloody murder because I didn't stop to get him. He was also really tired. Other times, I'll come in the room and he gets the biggest, goofy smile and starts giggling and trying to claw his way toward me. Melts my heart! Sweet boy!
His first tooth to come through is on the bottom. The other one is no where to be found, though! That came up around 8 months and now his top two have come through too.
OK, updates on all his "issues". He is keeping me busy with appointments! This week we had 4, including two trips to the hospital. I got nothing else accomplished this week except for taking him to the feeding clinic, pediatrician, physical therapy, and orthotics! I paid almost $10 just in parking fees.
Good news... his torticollis is completely resolved! Yippee do da! His physical therapist was really happy with his progress. He can get down on all fours and rocks back and forth. and when there is resistance against his feet, he can push forward. He pivots on his belly or when he's sitting, and he rotates well both ways when reaching for toys. She just wants to see him once more before we go out of town and once when we get back and he'll be done with PT.
The pediatrician thought his weight was doing better (15lbs), but it still wasn't quite where they want it to be. So I took him to the feeding clinic at Women's and Children's Hospital and really did not have a good experience. They basically told me to do everything I have already been doing. They had me bring food and watched me while I fed him. They were happy with how he ate, since he doesn't gag or choke. But then when he tried to grab for the spoon, she made me let him take it, then let him play with the spoon and yogurt container, even though he was starving and screaming to be fed! She kept saying, "Now this is good, let him play with it. See, he's having fun! Let him experience food and enjoy it." All the while he is getting more and more frustrated that it wasn't going in his mouth. It ended with him throwing the yogurt on the floor and wasting the rest of it. Then he was really mad, and I was getting increasingly annoyed at this free spirited "expert". By the end, I was informed that the solution was, feed him more calories. No duh. What do you think I've been trying to do? They treated me like I was at the beginning of this weight gain process and not well into it. Lady, the sun rises and sets with me trying to put more fat and calories into his little mouth. I melt down coconut oil and mix it into his formula for heavens sakes! And he really is getting much better. Just this week he finally started taking the mashed avacado and bananas I've been trying so hard to feed him. He really likes food, he just seems to have his father's metabolism. Or maybe Marcies. I've also been trying to add more fat into my diet. (I know the last time I posted about this I was giving up nursing. Well, loooong story short.. that didn't work out. I'll spare you the details) It's been the weirdest feeling to go looking for calories. I bought regular sour cream for the first time... well ever. It's SO creamy! My gosh, I had no idea. I also bought full fat ice cream. (I'm just hoping I get a fatter baby out of this and not a fatter mommy.)
Here is Mr. W "drinking" out of a sippy. Drinking, meaning chewing and getting a small swallow while the rest spills down his neck. He has {stink neck} a lot. And {stink head} from the helmet. It sure is a disconcerting mixture of smells when you add in his coconut breath.
Here's my messy eater after a yummy dinner! The clinic told me to feed him those Gerber jars of ground ham or chicken and gravy. Barf-a-rama. The smell almost made me vomit. He knew better and kept spitting it out. Then I made a ham sandwich today and the smell was awful. I could barely get it down. That nasty baby food may have ruined ham sandwiches for me forever!
I felt like I had to almost hose him down before putting him in his infant tub, but then thought, hey, maybe it's time to switch to the big boy tub!
Collin couldn't have been happier about that! He wants to play with Weston SO BAD. He can barely wait til he is more interactive.
And after seeing that crazy hair, I decided it was time for a cut. I thought it was his first, real haircut, so I scooped a piece off the floor and ran to tape it in his baby book and lo and behold, there was already a swatch of hair. So, I guess this wasn't his first. My memory is really slipping.
I am a just a little in love with this sweet boy. I can't believe he'll be a year in just a few months. Bless his heart, he is still sleeping in the pack 'n play next to our bed! Poor guy! I should have just bought a second crib. Oh well. His big loves are walks, baths and Collin. He does this happy shriek every once in a while in the car. Always makes me wonder, what prompts it. He is so content and happy, I wish I could ensure that all my future children have such pleasant dispositions! We sure love our Weston!

9 months? I can't even believe it. Rusty will be so excited to have a buddy his size. Before you have to leave that boy will be cruising on the skitters with the rest of them! And you last post was really funny. Collin chasing after that squirrel, hello National Lampoons! Haha. Could he not eat it because of his high cholesterol? And the chocolate, don't ever send it back! Totally susans bad for not switching her address.
WooHoo for Weston! My other girls whose peditrition wanted them to go to a feeding clinic didn't go. Trust your instincts and don't worry. Sesilie is only 15 lbs and her peditition didn't say a thing.
I can hardly wait to see Weston. He has gotten so big. Can't wait to see my Collin guy either.
So I just met a neice of mine born the same month as Weston. She is only 15 months too, and totally healthy. She hasn't had to go to a "feeding" clinic or anything. She's just small! I'm so sorry about all the hassle, and everything you have been going through.
Oh my gosh your posts get me every time... You are too funny. I laughed out loud at the metabolism comment you mentioned me in. My advice is drink soda... I've never seen cellulite, totally spelled that wrong oh well, but I definitely am getting some and I'm pretty sure it's my massive intake of soda. The post below this one was hilarious! Just picturing Collin chasing the squirrel had me in tears from laughing and the chocolate bahahaha I'm laughing as I type this it is hilarious. Poor Wanda, or whatever her name was she is probably waiting on pins and needles for her yearly chocolate to come and here you two are chowin down on it. Ahhhh I love it. PS last Sunday me and Shelley were moving a chair up the stairs from the basement and I couldn't help but yell PIVOT haha I don't know if she got it but I thought I was pretty funny and had to tell you.
