Monday was a fun day filled with birthday celebrations for my good friends, Rachel and Crescent! Megan and I teamed up to plan a brunch/"tea party" for the day time and then a movie and dessert for night time. We just had to do a little partyin' with no kids. :)
The brunch was so fun. It felt fancy to be eating on china (Megan found it at an estate sale just for the occasion!) and pouring our hot chocolate from the silver plated pitcher and sipping it from tea cups. Ah, to be British :)
Megan made some amazing scones and I finally had a chance to try making the Pear Claufoti that Rach is famous for. I wish I could eat like that every morning!
That night we went and saw Eat, Pray, Love. Even though I didn't like the book, I was excited to see the places she wrote about. And it's always interesting to me to see a movie after I've read the book. It was OK... I wouldn't see it again, but I do like Julia Roberts and it was just fun to be out with the gals! :)
After the movie, we went back to my place for cake and icecream. I was excited that the cake turned out! I've never made a fancy cake like this and it was {death by chocolate} for sure. I got the recipe off Picky Palate. And I hope you girls don't mind.... I just had to include a {blowing} pic :)
We stayed up way too late talking and laughed way too hard (just have Denyse share her explicit mall story :).
Thanks for being born girls! Don't know what I'd do without such great friends!

So I forgot that my real reason for commenting before was to ask you where you got your cute red shirt for your picture? Then I thought it was funny because I read a comment on Shelley's blog that you were trying to go get Marcie's shirt (which by the way is also adorable) at Urban Outfitters. Too bad they don't have one here. Pittsburghers are NOT the most fashionable people. I'm trying to come up with a cute outfit for me and the boys and just think I need a little something new;)
Thanks for wonderful birthday celebration! I loved everything about the entire day. So glad I could spend it with you & our girls. Thanks for all your efforts into making it a great birthday! XOXO
What a perfect day it was!! Thanks for everything you did. THere is nothing quite like having a great group of girlfriends. I've been thinking so much this year how this is our year of "lasts" and it makes me so sad!! It will be so hard to leave such a fun place.
