Meet dear Wilbur..... our dinner last Saturday night.
(Not the most lively fellow)
His grave began in a pit....
that steamed him up good.
Looking at this makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
But, boy, these guys were proud.
It took days of prep and hard labor.
And they feasted on their spoils...
even sharing their 70 lb. hog with the rest of us.
The Cardons hosted a fantastic luau.
Really, they outdid themselves.
And I may have not seen my husband for the whole day, but it all paid off in berry punch, coconut rolls, and chop suey.
(However, the little piggie that didn't make it home, wasn't really my favorite. Shocker, I know)
Doug, Wayne, and I got called up as the finalists for "best dressed".
We were supposed to have a dance- off to win.
Doug started his Samoan chanting, clapping, hollering...... (He served his mission there).... game over. He was pretty amazing.
I sure wish I had won that coconut bra, but it went to the better man :)
Luckily, our little guy, knew nothing of the massacre that took place that day.
But he sure rocked a lei.
May Wilbur rest in peace.

You did look great in your island wear! Are you sure you are pregnant? Don't look it at all! Love what Trav is wearing also. Best of all is that cute little face of my NY grandson! Sounds as if you had a good time.
whatever, you took Hula at BYU Hawaii! I really can't believe you still have and took those sarongs and bikini top across country to NY. Fun party. I like pork but not as organic as that.
Soooo, there are possible plans of us coming to visit sometime in October. Kidless of course. That seems to be the way we like to roll if possible:) Let me know when would be the best time for you guys to have visitors
Steph, You're a babe. seriously I wanted to take your hair and put it on my head! Why doesn't mine grow like yours? Please don't ever cut it. As with Shelley's comment I too am trying to figure out times to come this fall. I have a good few days off during October break so... we will be talking because I think that will be the best week so far. Miss you!
I'm totally with Marcie, your hair looks awesome, all the time. You're very creative. So did you have to curl it? Its almost looks like natural curl. So how's scuba Steve doing? I recognize Wayne Dobbins right away, did he move there for school?
*wow*!
an entire pig!?!
poor Wilbur.
looks like fun!
This was a lot of fun! Thanks to you and Trav for your part in planning it!
And I agree with Paula (is that your mom or your mom-in-law?)...you DO NOT look pregnant. Man, I wish I was as skinny as you!
HA! As I wrote that, I realized that all of your commenters envy you...your hair, your skininess...girl, you are a babe!!
I also wanted to tell you that I like to put on your blog when I am cleaning the house. The music is rockin'!
