It was a PARTY on New Year's Eve! It was so fun to have Christopher with us! We all brought food to share and had a smorgasbord. I had seen a trending dance that I suggested we learn and luckily, lots were on board, including the younger girls!
I had also seen some "stupid human tricks" on Instagram that we tried out. We went to the front yard for space andddd to not freak out my mom haha. They were much scarier than I thought! For the first one, Travis was ready to flip me but I panicked and screamed and laughed and hyperventilated and we finally did it!! Abbey was making me laugh because she was determined to flip over David's shoulder and tried 50x but couldn't do it! We were dying. It was all so fun!
The Goodmans were at the dunes so the boys brought Lincoln, McGuire and Reagan.
Grandpa made him famous hot chocolate!
Olive got to change her first diaper! So interesting how lives can be so different. I had changed countless diapers by the time I was her age.
The party moved outside around 11pm and there was a constant speed basketball game going on. Grandpa hooked up the speakers for a bumpin' dance party! There were lots of teenagers at the Cummards and Clouses and they came over to our cul-de-sac too. Dancing at midnight is a top 5 moment of the whole year! We danced and we danced and we DANCED! I was sweaty from dancing so much. At first we didn't think we'd do the breakfast at midnight thing, but the kids were disappointed so at 1am I was mixing up waffle batter and we were warming back up the buttermilk syrup Grandma had made earlier! Why not?! By the time we were driving home it was 3:30am!!! Good grief! I hadn't been feeling well earlier in the day, but wasn't about to miss NYE. I don't think I did myself any favors staying up so late and going so hard. Tanner was a mess and crying on me while I was making the waffles. The boys friends ended up staying over since there was only a few hours of night left. It was all worth it!
