It had been the most incredible, life changing trip, but that last night at that scuzzy hotel had me pining for home! I couldn't wait to get to the airport! Luckily, the airport was nothing like it's derelict, hotel namesake. It was actually quite fancy. And had a Starbucks! I guess this is how you spell Stephanie in Arabic. We all got some food and waited for our plane. Praise the heavens it was on time and everything went smoothly! As we flew out over Jordan, I just prayed we could get out of that country as fast as possible. Our experience was top of the line, but as a whole, I did not have a good impression of Jordan.
We had a layover in London.
L O N D O N!!!!!!
I have never been to Europe. Wahhh. Look at me being a spoiled crybaby after being on an insanely privileged trip. I was giddy just to be in the airport. We had just enough time to get some fish and chips at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant and buy some massive Toblerone's at the gift shop.
We had someone sitting next to us in our row this time which was annoying. The flight home was cramped and would not end, but we finally FINALLY made it home. I am not the most easy going traveler. I'm amazed that so many do it regularly. You don't realize how far away the Middle East is until you have to fly there. Good gravy.
So happy to see our kids again!! Addison was the best babysitter ever. It was such a load off my mind that they were safe with her.
Apparently, Collin got dress coded at school for his long hair so these boys decided to do a summer shave while we were gone. I tried to talk him out of it. I am not a fan of the buzz. Oh well. I guess that comes with the territory of being a boy in the summer.
Our body-sized pillows for the kids worked! They snuggled us at night when they missed us.
For souvenirs, we got Collin a shirt that said
JER
USA
LEM
Cool, right? It has USA in the middle!
Weston got a chess set.
Olive got an olive tree bracelet.
Tanner got a stuffed camel.
And they all got to share the candy.

Just makes me ache we couldn't have slipped that last part of the trip in there with you guys! What a dream.
