Easter

Easter was on April 9th this year. We loved doing all our usual, Holy Week activities!

We invited the Laws and Monahans over for our Passover dinner. Megan inspired me to up my game! I loved how the more elegant, Passover dinner table turned out!

Right after the dinner, Camilla popped in to drop off the yummiest pretzel and cheese that she had bought me at Cactus Yards. She's the sweetest!

We always do a big, Easter basket in her hair, but this year I tried a mini basket too! So cute!

The ward did an Easter egg hunt at the park with donuts.

Bought THE most gorgeous lilies at Trader Joes!!

We even got around to dying eggs! While watching The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town. The 1977 one. I loved watching that growing up and it brought back tons of memories watching it with the kids!

Making Resurrection Rolls!

Travis put blankets down to save our seats on his way to work and when I went with the kids around 4pm, they were still there! Hooray! They weren't INCREDIBLE seats, but they were pretty good. I think the kids cared more about their Ned's Krazy Sub.

My pretty, Easter basket line up, in front of the lilies and Seder plate and flowers we're taking to the cemetery and our pots of grass we planted after talking about Lazurus being raised from the dead, brings me as much joy as seeing the presents under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve!

Weston's friend, Liam, and his mom were so sweet and "egged" our yard for the second year in a row. The kids love it and have so much fun finding all the eggs and gifts. They invited us to an Easter lunch that we squeezed in before church.

Our Easter devotional at the cemetery is so special to me. I was too tired to make homemade cinnamon rolls so I did Rhodes cinnamon rolls and also bought yummy breakfast burritos yesterday that we just warmed up. Easy is best.

We met up with the Evans for a bit at Joshua's grave.

A week of traditions!
We tie string to our wrists with a knot in it as a "forget me not" for the week. This correlates with the story of Simon of Cyrene who carried Christ's cross. We want to remember to look outside ourselves and see if there is anyone with a burden we can help lift.

I love my Easter decorations. I thought I'd document some of them. I loved being able to teach an Easter lesson in Relief Society last month and share how these traditions have changed my life. They changed my life because they helped me focus on my Savior, spend time with Him and teach my children about Him. When I say it has changed my life, I am not kidding. My testimony of Christ has transformed. There is an unmistakable and undeniable, pure JOY that has come as I've chosen to make Him our focal point. He IS my Savior. My Redeemer. My friend. I love Him and trust Him. I can't wait until I can fall at His feet and thank Him. I want the whole world to know about Him! I pray every night that His light will shine through me so that others might have the peace and joy of being closer to Him. I owe Him everything and hope I can live my life in a way He would want.
