Collin begged to play tackle football for over a year before I finally consented. I never wanted my sons to play football. No thank you, brain injuries. But he never felt passionate about any other sports, so I finally conceded. It's too bad that by 7th grade, you need to have already played enough, or I guess have enough raw talent, to be given field time. Coach Pyle was a great coach and always made sure all the boys got to play, but Collin was usually just on special teams for kick offs. I got to stand on the sidelines for a couple of games and play photographer, which was fun. I thought he looked so cute in his uniform and gear! I was really proud of him for all the hard work he had put in, going to early morning practices when it was cold, dark and frost was on the ground! The team as a whole was really good. I think they went undefeated. I wish he'd give it one more year, but he's not interested in pursuing it. He also said the locker room environment was rough. Dang locker room. Oh well. Go Eagles!
