Family Pictures 2015

Megan has taken our pictures every year for the last 8 years (minus one) and I knew I couldn't forfeit her skills for this year just because we were moving! She was SO nice to fit us into her busy life! So 4 days before the move, we headed out to the red rocks to capture a {Gallup} family picture. Tania knew of a great spot and so very kindly drove us to it. (Then her truck got stuck in the sand and she had to get towed out!!! I felt terrible!) Megan helped me understand how nice it is for a photographer to take a "competitor" photographer to her secret, awesome spot. That is amazing Tania for you.

Two things we weren't counting on.
#1- The stray dog that roamed close but thankfully never caused trouble. (Darn rez dogs.)
#2- The masses of prickly stickers that grew in hazardous bushes EVERYWHERE. (It should be noted that for the duration of our living here, everyone called them goat heads. And Travis hated it. They were obviously bull heads. ;) This never got resolved.) So poor Trav huffed me around on his back to the various spots.

The setting was so beautiful to me. I was obsessed with the grooves on the red cliffs and the way the sun lit up every color gradation in the hills. Megan did an amazing job, as usual. She is so talented and we could not be more grateful!

I love this first pose.

Soooo, for the second pose....

.... we may have a situation here.
Megan had asked Olive to give me a kiss. Well, if Weston hears "kiss", you better believe he wants in on the action. He is our affectionate snuggle bug after all. I wasn't even aware of it, but I guess when he realized he wasn't reaching my lips, he took the next closest thing. How did I not feel it?!
When Megan started cracking up, she had to explain why. Then I died! Ohhh Weston!
I'm thinking this is Christmas Card worthy, right? We definitely want to be "that" family.

I love Olive's vest and how all the kids' individual shots turned out! Couldn't you just die over those boots?! My online shopping turned up duds, but Megan came to the rescue with these adorable boots!!

This is my other favorite pose! I love Collin's smile.

The boys were in sand heaven! Every time we finished a pose they'd race off to the hills to play.

Do I really have 3, sweet and spicy children?! Luckiest Mom right here.

My last favorite pose. I think I'm going to print this big. It's so perfect. I couldn't believe how perfect it was when I first saw it and it never gets old to look at. We are so so blessed.
