Goodman's Come to Visit!

The last weekend in January, my sister came to visit! It was kind of last minute, but it worked out perfectly. They drove in on Thursday night to beat the rain that was supposed to hit Arizona. We were slated for a couple hours of snow, but it turned into a day of snow! I first got the school delay phone call, then shortly after, the school canceled phone call! Hooray!! Our first official "Snow Day!"
(This reminds me of myself and Shelley at this age!)
They weren't completely prepared for snow, so we drove to Wal-Mart first and bought out the rest of their snow gear. Then it was off to Ford Canyon Park. We've never gone sledding here before, but I'd heard it was where people go. At least it's the only grassy place we know of! It worked out great. And we finally got to use the two sleds I'd bought at a garage sale in Buffalo but never used!
Poor Olive only had one snow glove, so I tied a grocery bag around her other mitten to keep it dry. Didn't last too long!

It was fun to watch Shelley and Casey go after each other. Casey was usually the winner. Ok, always the winner. Haha!

The boys started getting creative and "snowboarding" down the hill on the sleds! I was shocked at their balance!

As if we weren't cold enough, we made homemade snow cones after lunch! Our whole shelf of Italian syrups sure came in handy!

That afternoon, the whole clan got check-ups and cleanings! And Rusty was a champ getting a few cavities filled. I guess Lane saw a shot coming his way and beelined it out of that chair, nearly taking Travis's finger with him! HA! My favorite was before we left, someone asked Collin and Weston if they were getting their teeth cleaned too and Weston started whimpering with a look of terror and said he HATES the dentist. Hehe. That couldn't have been too encouraging to his cousins!
We ordered in pizza that night and made cookies. The next day, the snow was still there, so we got all dressed up and went out to play!

I absolutely LOVE it when I get a shot like this! Haha! With Collin's tongue sticking out and Lane mid dive. So perfect!

They built up a snowman, then took turns tackling it!

Travis had the idea to use our little orange sled as a base for a snow ramp. Worked pretty good except for the fact that he had to stand there and hoist the boys up one by one.

After that it was dance parties, making bread and going to see Paddington! Well, I stayed home with the napping babies, but they said it was a good one!

Shelley took this of me and Olive on the couch. They learn young, don't they?!
I was so happy I found a babysitter that night so we could go out to eat without the kids! Follow that up with DQ Blizzards and laughing at the movie, Troop Beverly Hills, and you have yourself a night! I felt so bad that Lindi woke up early the next morning barfing. :( We were looking forward to hanging out on Sunday too. So they packed up and cleaned my whole house before leaving while we were at church! Now those are my kind of visitors! ;) Seriously though, we had such a fun weekend. Our house felt empty and lonely on Sunday. Come back soon, Goodmans!!

I love how the simplest trips are the best! Thanks for letting us come so last minute. You must be exhausted from hosting people in your home. AND I didn't realize your trip was this week:/ Sorry if that stressed you out and put more on your plate.
