We drove into Arizona Wednesday night for Thanksgiving. The next morning, Trav and I ran the 2 mile Turkey Trot with Olive. Shelley was super nice to watch the boys for us. We hadn't trained at all, so we didn't think we could do the 10k, but after running 2 miles easy peasy, lemon squeezy, we were kind of bummed we hadn't just gone for it. Next year for sure!
Lame-o Stephanie didn't take one picture of the rest of the day! Thankfully, my cousin, Leah, did! So we get to remember what her cute family looked like with Grandma and Grandpa. Wish I had done this! We went to Grandma Ann and Grandpa Jess's house for lunch at 12:30. I brought the cranberry relish and "clog your ateries-but in a yummy way" creamed corn. I haven't had Thanksgiving with my Udall cousins in over 5 years. It was really fun to catch up with the ones that came. And even though Olive was a crying mess for half the time, Aunt Jori held her and loved on her through all of it.
Here are the Sellards cousins.
I thought it was fun to eat in the backyard surrounded by citrus trees and with the pomegranate centerpieces done by Grandpa. :)
We went to the Evans that night to eat leftovers and visit but I was a bum and went to bed at 8pm. Olive had woken up just about every hour the night before and I was a wreck.
On Friday, we did some Insanity with Shelley in my mom's living room (hehe, seriously) then ran some errands around town. I attempted some Black Friday shopping at Michaels and Target. Then we got lunch at our ever favorite- Gecko Grill. Aubrey took Weston and the two other cousins his age on a little play date. They got Ned's Crazy Sub and went to the park and got ice cream! What lucky kids. Aunty Aubs earned herself the "favorite aunt" award on this trip!
At 4pm, it was time for our GiRLs NiGHt!!
A little background.... Tuesday night, I had a bit of a meltdown. It was kind of bad and I'll just leave it at that, but it left me feeling zero desire to come home for Thanksgiving. I just wanted to be alone. No kids. Obviously I knew I'd have Olive, but that felt almost doable if the boys were gone. I just couldn't do it anymore. When Travis came home from his meetings and heard my new plans and that I was pretty serious about them, he formulated a plan of his own. He booked a hotel in Scottsdale for me on Friday night. He told me, "Now I guess you'll just have to come with us". It was really sweet, but I also felt pretty guilty. I wish I could just get my act together. Anyway! Sob story over! The hotel was booked, and he told me to invite my mom and sisters to party with me. How could I say no to that?! He really is too good to me.
So we all piled in my mom's suburban and headed to Scottsdale! Ooo la la! We ate at the trendy LeGrande Orange for dinner and had ourselves some really good chips and dip, fancy salad and earthy pizzas! Topped off with gelato and a warm, French vanilla sea salt cookie. Yum!
Then of course it was off to Scottsdale Fashion Square mall! I finally got myself some Buxom lip gloss at Sephora that I've been dying to try and some really cute outfits for Olive at Gap. Oh yeah, and an Indian print sweater at Forever 21 hehe. Gotta fit in, right?
We wanted to get a picture of all of us, but Shelley wouldn't cooperate! Haha, every family has to have a problem child. ;) I love these pictures.
Finally, a normal one!
Then we were off to our hotel, the Fairmont Princess. A 5 star luxury resort. I felt so spoiled. It was gorgeous. Obviously not my pictures, but I wanted to remember what it looked like.
This was the view from our balcony.
It was late once we got checked in and settled, but not too late for some hot tubbing!
Travis kept Olive since she's been taking a bottle pretty good lately, but that meant I had to pump. Got milk? I barely let it touch my tongue... promise. But I gotta say, gross factor aside, it wasn't all that bad, haha.
Mom gets a little cray cray late at night.
The next morning was spent laying out poolside. Oh yeahhh. Thank that Arizona sun that shines warm the day before December!
We got pina coladas, my very favorite, and some lunch. The water was heated, but I only got in for a few minutes. The only thing better than laying out is laying out for hours. Unfortunately, we had to call it in at 1pm and get back to real life. It was a short, but really fun getaway. Spank you, Travis!!
After I got back to Trav's parent's house, he left with his brothers to go shooting, so I went and picked up Lane and Rusty and some Tia Rosas to go, and headed to the park. These boys played nonstop for 4 hours. Cousins are the best!
Once Trav got back, I dropped the boys off with him and let my mom have some Olive time.
Then I picked up Miss Marcie and we got ourselves some blizzards and hung out at her house watching Thanksgiving episodes of FRIENDS. Even Josie joined the party! Woot woot! Travis had his ASU game to keep him company that night. :)
Sunday was the typical church, chill at the parentals house and dinners with family. Travis's family has a tradition of eating turkey flautas the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Now, with us on the same time schedule, we can leave for home at 6pm instead of 5pm. Not too big a deal, but makes a difference. It's weird to think that in only 3 week, we'll be back for Christmas!

I'm glad you ended up going to Arizona. Looks like it was great. So jealous of the Scottsdale weekend. That pool is amazing. Guess I got you hooked on them huh? Your mom is hilarious! Love that blurry shot of her on the bed.
What a fun way to really get some girl time in. I get it too. For some reason three kids has really been hard for me to "get my act together" at times too. I can do it, but this yr has been really tiring for me. It's one of my new yr's resolutions to get to bed earlier and be more on top of it and feel like I'm doing as good of a job as I did when I only had 2:) I don't have a newborn and luckily Lanie is sleeping much more during these dark winter nights, so I can do it! Is what I tell myself.
Oh wait, p.s. Who is Josie? I saw her on Jenni's blog, at Marcie's wedding and I keep meaning to ask.
