The afternoons can get kinda long and boring around these parts, so one day last week I decided it would be fun to do something a little out of the ordinary with Collin.
Namely, a tea party.
(For the life of me, I can't remember where I got this little tea set, but I wasn't going to let it collect dust any longer! Who cares if I have boys?? Tea parties are non-discriminatory in my book.)
Weston was napping, so it was just the two of us... and our lively guests.
First, we needed the {invitations}.
Then we needed the {attire}.
Back to that whole {boy} thing... the dress up selection was limited. So sombreros and a pick from my shoe collection made the outfit.
(I pulled the pink shoes out for myself, then Collin saw them and decided they were for him. Once in the backyard, I heard the girly-ish scream possible and ran to find Collin flipping out that there was a {spider} in his shoe. I found said spider cowering under a nearby toy. It was, in fact, a big, black cockroach. Be still my heart. I haven't seen a cockroach in YEARS! He said very forcefully that it was in his shoe (and pointed to where the heel would be) and not just outside on the porch. I didn't see it when I pulled the shoes out, so I'm guessing it was in the toe, then scurried up to the back before he slipped his feet in.
My hero. If he hadn't insisted on wearing them, that would have been MY foot squishing a cockroach instead of him. Turns out, kids can be good for somethings. :)
Chocolate milk, cookies and crackers were on the menu.
Teddy and monkey were most entertaining.
Collin liked scooping the sugar the most... can't blame him.
Yup, I was there too... blurry and all.
(Can I say for the umpteenth time, I can't WAIT to get a nice camera!)
Minus the cockroach, we had a fantastic time.
I even taught him how to raise his pinkie, call things {delightful}, and throw in a {daaaarling} every now and again.
And as was expected, he has asked for a tea party every day since. Delightful.

Oh how glad I am that you did this. I can't stop smiling at how cute every little was. WHat a fun memory to have with Collin & his momma. I love the attire. Holy cow, I can't believe there was a cockroach in the shoe! Nasty! You're such a fun mom.
I can't tell you how much I love this! In fact, I loved all of your new posts. Call me your blog stalker, cuz that's what I am!
I loved your tea party. I loved Collin's formal attire. Every tea party should have someone show up in a sombrero and pink shoes. Way to go Collin the Brave for sparing the mom from crunching a cockroach. Can't even imagine that one...don't want to either. I, too, love your blog. It helps me keep up with what you and the family are doing, since you aren't around.
