I thought of "smorgasbord" for the title, then googled it to make sure I was spelling it right... interesting tid bit- it's a Swedish word meaning buffet! Ha, you learn something new every day, right?!
Well that little intro was probably an appropriate beginning for the randomness I'm about to post!
I have NOT done my little pumpkin face (yes, that's what I call him) any justice lately with pictures, so here we go.
I love this picture because he looks like a present, all wrapped up!
Ta Da!
He has become a baby pretzel and satisifies his sucking needs with his toes. Yum.
He's fairly content in the exersaucer, but I think sometimes he inadvertently hits something that makes a loud noise and it startles him, then he wants nothing to do with it. He's also become petrified of the vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, and blender. He goes hysterical when one gets turned on, gets his huge eyes goin' and pouts his lip. It's hysterical. I can picture it at any given time and it gives me the giggles.

We've had some chilly days, so we get all bundled up before our walks. He's graduated from staying perched on top of the stroller in his carrier, to actually getting to see what's going on during our walks. He loves it.
Right after his bath last week he rolled from his back to his front with no help! And he hasn't done it since. Tease.
The "lazy eye" torch has been passed on! Like father, like son :)
Ok, I know this is weird, but we were driving to a friend's house last weekend and I looked up to the sky and saw these crazy lookin' clouds! They looked just like cool whip, all stirred up. I pointed them out to Trav, who was also captivated, resulting in me having to call his attention to the red light we about ran :)
Upon arriving at said friend's house, Bron grabbed Collin and Lily and I saw a picture moment needing to be captured. As we called to the babies to get them both to look at the camera, I snapped three shots, all with Bron looking like this! Haha, I love it- it was like he was responding to everyone's whistles and calls, getting his animated face going while the kids couldn't care less :)
Other weekend activities included going to Olive Garden last Friday. The waitress was putting the drinks down when she spilled a water glass and it came rushing all over muwah! Lucky for me, I was wearing my white capris!
Not ten minutes later, Doug follows suit and spills Rach's lemonade all over the table and floor. Haha. I guess we needed some comic relief for the ridiculousness of the night. I think I've had it with Olive Garden. It's always SO busy and it's SO over priced, I'm surprised they didn't demand my son as payment for their mediocre pasta. It's actually the first time Rach has been since last October. We all arrived, ready to celebrate her birthday, when she opened up her cloth napkin and found a nasty surprise. Had to be some kind of sordid joke... but imagine a clump of only the LAST thing you want to see before eating food. Yeah. Nightmarish.

About two weeks ago, Rach and I went to a little park we had heard about that had a wading pool. It was really close and fairly secluded. Plus, it was beautiful! We had a little picnic courtesy of Subway....
And took a little dip. It was a bit chilly but not too bad. Right on the other side of the fence is a river. This place was quite a find and completely free! Unfortunately it hasn't been warm enough to go back, but we'll be frequenting in next summer for sure.
Here are some treasures from our garden. We have squash, zucchini, cucumber, jalepeno, and tomatoes. We've had zuccini coming out of our ears!
I always thought mobiles were completely unnecessary, but turns out that babies are actually entertained by them! Go figure. The only problem is they are extremely over priced in my opinion. So I found a cheapo one from Wal Mart (Looney Tunes, ugh) and sewed some stars to hang from it instead.

And then today I made some pacifier holders. I lost the only one he had, and given that I'm a germ-a-phob, it was a heavy loss. Target charges $5 a piece for these things, but they are a fraction of the cost homemade! And after my curse word of a sewing machine finally cooperated, the project turned out ok.
I have to thank everyone for the well wishes for my back. Last week was a big bummer. I was incapacitated Sunday through Wednesday night with my back problems and Tuesday night started my cold. Sore throat, congestion, headache, and runny nose kept me down until Friday. A waste of a week! I hate being unproductive, so today I made up for wasted time. I exercised, did dishes, mopped the floor, cleaned the bedroom, vacuumed, cleaned out my diaper bag, did laundry, took Collin on a walk, went grocery shopping, made dinner, sewed the pacifier holders, and overhauled the den (see below). And of course took care of the babers. We have a spot where all mail and papers "to be filed" go. I HATE filing. I procrastinate until the pile is overflowing, then sit down, sort through it, make my piles and file them away. It all seems really unnecessary and yet has to be done. Hardly ever, if at all, do I go back to look at bank statements, credit card bills, Insurance memos, etc. And the "student loan" file only seems to be thickening by the minute. Sigh. I remember a time when it was FUN to get mail. If there was a letter in the mailbox with your name on it, it was something to get excited about. Now, I pull out bills and junk and wonder why all mail can't be wedding announcements and Dairy Queen coupons. Ah, well, the den is finally clutter free and I can relax until Jerry stops by tomorrow with the latest Bed, Bath and Beyond flyer and Direct Loan statement. :)

I love the homemade mobile... it matches so well! ps. I see you are my new visiting teacher... and I added to to my blog stalking list!
Loved the pics of the babe. I vote you post more of him.
That was a post full of lovely randomness! :) Thank you!
Oh boy do I ever love that little boy, yeah I'm going to have to tag along with Trevor and come visit ya'll. I do enjoy random posts too.
Is your postmans name really Jerry? How do you know? Do you chat? Also, paci holders + mobile = domestic goddess!!!!
You are so funny!
I love your posts. They make my day! As you already know I am in love with my cute cute nephew, seriously can't get over him. I wish so bad you guys were here so I could play with him because unfortunately Laners is too cool for me now!
I'm impressed with your sewing skills! I love what you did with the mobile! (I never thought babies liked them either but Dev LOVES his) I wait too long to sort mail, so I can relate to that tedious task.
Ok Stephanie I'm sitting here with an ice pack on my back! I haven't had any problemo with my back until I read your blog...you jinxed me! Just kidding, Collin is getting so big and he is the cutest cupie doll I have ever seen! I missed you when you where here darn it. Love ya
Are you for reals wearing jackets already? Geezers. I swear we have a GOOD 2 months till we can do that. Guess what, we have a CheeburgerCheeburger here in Tempe! I just found this out, we will be going this weekend!
It's been a little chilly here a couple of days too. Sorry I accidentally deleted your last comment you left on my blog. You left six of the same comment and when I went to delete five of them it didn't show up right and so I deleted the last one too. I hope to go home for Christmas, but no guarantees. Maybe if we can get a good deal, who are you flying through and was it cheap? I'd love to see all the girls at once. Last time I only saw Jenni, but we got to catch up at her house for hours. It was so nice. Collin is changing so much and looks so different these last few months. He's starting to look more and more like Trav.
P.S. I don't know how far along Rachel is, but tell her she does look great and is a very pretty pregnant person and doesn't need to avoid pictures :)
Haha, Trav was wearing 2 of my old shirts in this post! No wonder I had zero shirts when I came back and had to go buy new clothes. :) And I definitely need to plan my trip out there.
