The Host

Well I started this book on my flight out to NY and just finished it a few days ago! It's a bugger on length! I had mixed feelings when I finished.... There were definitely parts where I couldn't put it down and I was really into the story, but my overall feeling when I was done was that I had just wasted too many hours of my life. But since I had no job, and a lot of spare time, it wasn't such a big deal. I've also read her Twilight series and will probably read the next installment coming out in two days just for kicks. No I didn't pre-order and I didn't reread the other three just to prepare. I'm sorry to say I'm not a die-hard Stephenie Meyer fanatic like many of my in-laws and well, most of America. She's a good writer, just too wordy. What I mean by that is that I think she could have condensed this book into four hundred pages and accomplished the same story. Same with the Twilight series. Just my opinion! I know it won't be a popular one. So who's read it and what did you think??Also, any recommendations for another book to read? :)

I liked it. I had a hard time with it at first, but after I got about 100 pages in I was hooked, and was happy when it ended. As far as another book goes I do not think I am much help, I think I am going to start on the left behind books next, I read the first 11 about 6 years ago, but cannot really remember them.

It is nice to see you guys made it to your destination in NY. We will miss seeing you guys at random places. Example Walmart. Your house is so cute. Looks like you guys have been busy. Enjoy it cause school is just around the corner. Good luck!! Keep in touch.

I enjoyed The Host, but I'm a lover of words. I do agree that she repeated some things more often than she needed. I'm one of those crazy in-laws you are talking about. I have pre-ordered but I have not reread the series. Recommendations- I like Rosemunde Pilchner books. She is an English writer and excellent. She gets into characters really well. I miss having you and Travis around

That last post was from me Paula or Mom. I don't have an account so I used Trevor's.

I was not a big fan of host. I tried to read it, but ultimatle just decided it was not my cup of tea. I really like most of the books by Sarah Dessen and Laurie Halse-Anderson. Those two writers are he ones I just finished up reading. I read most of their young adult novels. I also like Meg Cabot. Did you know she is the lady who wrote the books that the princess diaries movies are based off of?

I didn't know that her 4th book in the Twilight series comes out this soon. I'm excited! Too bad you didn't love it, but you're like me, you just have to finish it!

I'm not going to lie that it took me FOREVER to get into it, but I liked it in the end. Not at much as the Twilight series though.
